This block of apartments had a very poor Escape of Water history and a complex plumbing system. Numerous subdivisions of the building over the years, meant shutting off the water in some apartments would also shut off the supply to a neighbouring apartment. Where possible Leaksafe supplied automatic leak detection with shut off but if not, risk areas were covered with leak detection linked to a notification system with alarms being sent to the concierge and property managers.
The number of claims fell from 15 in the two years before the Leaksafe systems were installed to 3 in the year of installation, 1 the year after, and none in the 2nd year after installation as plumbing maintenance issues identified by the leak detection systems, were addressed in the building.
